There are big questions I have about Frontier.

1) You have 6 skill points to distribute when creating a new character, in the skills: Trade, Travel, Defense and Attack.

Can I get opinions (especially from those who have finished the game or at least have done very well), as to how to spend those 6 points?

2) What is the best way to really start off th game. You have limited money at the start. I could either upgrade my cart, upgrade my armor and weapons, or upgrade nothing and get silver to buy and sell, to make more money faster I guess. But the problem with that, is that I'll probably die going to the first city.

I would love some thought on both these questions.

Thank you,
Zanatar.

I ve finished the game by completing all the "enforcers" tasks.
1)I put all the points on att/def.
2)At begining, dont upgrade. Travel back and forth to make money. Search for most profittable cities. Run from every fight. As soon as you can get a decent weapon and armor, dont run anymore (from every fight, i mean).

Eachday: So your saying no points at all in Trade or Travel.. all in atk/Def means 3 points in each correct? Or do you have it spread differenty? 4 points attack, 2 points def, or some other combo for Att/Def?

Ok, so is Silver the best way to make money between the two towns that your saying to go back and forth between?
Or perhaps some other way?

Thanks,
Zanatar.

1)the balance between att/def depends on your style. I put 4/2. I hire good traders and travellers later.
2)The goods you are going to trade depends on the buy/sell ratio, if I remember well, silver is the best for starting. Sometimes, you gotta trade grain and cloth for a long time to rebuild your treasury. If you are gonna trade silver, check if there are any cheaper goods with a fine buy/sell ratio in the same city you are going to, and take it as well using the rest of the money.
Note: arm yourself fast and take down weak buccaneers. Run repeatedly from stronger parties.
Note 2: Frontier is a great game, but since I discovered how fantastic multiplayer is, I ve been playing Colony and nothing else.

Hmm ok I have a few more questions

1) I am doing very well now. I now have about 60k. I've now got a Medival tank with a full party and all of us with the best gear.
My question is, is the Vanguard better then the medival tank? In reading some of the other posts, many seem to feel the tank is better due to having better armor. Is this true? I think the value of adding a 5th hire, is worth the little loss of armor , no?

2) I took the route of enforcer as you did. Does this mean that I cannot take over towns? I am actually playing the game over on Kongregate , and doing the badges. One of the badges requires 10 cities to be conquered. I guess this means I'd have to go Mercenary no? or stay as an enforcer but I'm guessing taking over cities will lower my reputation?

Thanks,
Zanatar.
