Middle Earth is UTC+12, so that makes it 2:30 over there.

I think I'm missing the signicance of newfoundland...

The internet did give me this, but I don't know if it's coincidental or not.

Question: if we determine time based on the sun's position in the sky, what time is it on the surface of the sun?

Some time. Time depends on how fast are you going. Now the sun goes as relative to the earth as the earth is relative to the sun, so it depends where you are. For example in israel it is 12:00, but in the US it is 6:00. We see that the time is based on where you are.

More specifically, where you are relative to the sun. So when you're on the sun...

I suppose you would have to create a new way to define units of time, possibly based on planetary movement.

On the surface of the sun it is always midnight since in you stand up the sun is down.

What? Also as far as I know, stars, being giant balls of gas don't have a solid surface.

Surface doesn't need to be solid to be a surface, and you would die millions of miles before getting to the sun.

Time is relative, and for all purposes nonexistent, so on the sun, it is Right Now, just like how it is Right Now everywhere else.

Yes, we all know that time itself is relative.

Though since we aren't asking that question, this thread carries on.
