To sum it up... WOW. An Egyptian's father refuses to allow him to marry the girl of his dreams as he and his wife have someone else picked out for him. What does he do? He turns himself into a eunuch.

Does it have to have any relevance beside the fact that it has to be World events, Politics, Religion, etc.-related?

I think this is extremely weird, but romantic in a way. I don't know many people who would cut off their penis for the one they love.

Im not sure on your definition or romantic, but it sure doesn't seem romantic to me to castarate yourself.

Wow I think that was just a little dramatic? Maybe just run away? Or refuse to go along with your parents' will. I mean I know parents are held in much higher respect over there but my goodness is it that horrid? Thats flat out sad! (In stupidity not literal sadness)
