Edit: Pretty much what crimson said, although the moderators not really notifying us about anything to do with the community does not really help. Maybe once some job spots are filled in, they will work on the community forum. An average forum has around 10-20 moderators, 3-5 administrators, and a team of about 5 coding designers. Hence the wait on an edit button.
+/- Rep: Rep does no good, usually you can judge by a person's statistic symbol (serf, squire, knight, lord, etc., etc.). Many times a user creates like 5 new accounts just to add rep to their main account and vise versa.
Quick Reply: That is what we already have, our primary reply space. ON normal forums, there is a button labeled Reply you have to click on.
I must say, though, I have been wanting an edit button for some time now. Its a pain to double post and have people say "OMG OMG NOOB DONT DOUBLE POST" and you are like about to smack your computer lol.
