I'm sure someone has posted about this before, I'm just too lazy to look it up

Anyways, Instead of worrying about legal gun control, why don't we use that money to crack down on illegal gun trading (black market, etc.) illegal gun trading seems like much more of a threat... just a thought. what does the Armorverse think?

Yeah it is a bigger threat, as a right wing republican however I am strongly against any gun control. However the illegal gun trade is a big issue, I do not think it is neccesary for anyone to have a 50 cal machine gun or something of that nature.

illegal gun trade is illegal due to gun control. gun control is the reason i can't go to my local gun shop and buy a rocket launcher.

i think that in order for us to say that places that legally sell guns is a safe place, we need thorough background checks (even if it takes a week or so) before a gun license or gun is sold.

Uh, know of any black markets sonny?

The thing about the black market is you can't find it. If you could, that's only half the battle, getting in on it to sabotage it is the rest.

I totally agree, that's how I feel as well.

If we can blame guns on murder, I can blame misspelled words on my pencil (to use a cliche,)

Yes. It isn't the guns that are bad, they are merely an instrument, a tool. It is those who use them to do wrong that are bad.

Really, did the gun kill that innocent child or did the insurgent who used it? (This is a rhetorical question and a completely random example, not sure if this actually happened recently.) It boils down to whether or not people can accept the unfortunate truth that there are a lot of bad people out there. Sure, we manufacture guns, but not so they can be abused.

gun control is the reason i can't go to my local gun shop and buy a rocket launcher.

Um, you can't buy a rocket launcher period, not just because of gun control. They don't sell those in gun shops, those are for military purposes, not the recreation of the public.

The Government CONTROLS the sale of rocket launchers to military personnel only, thus, technically it's gun cotrol

If you have a good and effective gun control less gun related crimes are going to be committed.

Still, without guns murderers can find another way to kill victims, I'm sure.

Having a good system of legal gun control does make it easier to keep tabs on illegal gun trading. If you don't have a good system of legal gun registry how are you going to keep track of the #'s for illegal guns in your country?

They go hand in hand.

right, it's not like before guns people said "ban swords!" "swords kill!" and "what if your child got his/her hands on your bow&arrow?"

and before anyone says anything, yes i realize that guns are easier to use than bow+arrows, it was a simple analogy.

But They limited the availability of swords and stuff to the soldiers, knights, etc. in that time period. Normal people were jailed or even killed for handling swords and such
