You know, i've been thinking about this, and i've surmised that many of the worlds problems are simply because of apathy. People don't care about others, they don't even care about themselves sometimes. Change doesn't happen when no one cares if it ever does. Does anyone have any other examples of problems due to apathy?

You mean the worlds problems are caused by a greedy corrupt government.
Only the government doesn't care about others (Ok, the elections and things). But still where has the government truly thought about it's people and not vice versa? Wrong people do care about themselves all the time if they didn't then they would be dead by now. Change does happen when no one cares if it ever does. Everywhere people dislike change because they are so use to their old ways. Look around you.

I am the king of apathy at this point, i just see the world like the chemical reaction on a surface, might as well lean the reaction in a good way rather than feeding the beast.

Lol.

Sigh, another person who blames everything on the government. Im not saying any government is perfect, you will always have self absorbed people any where you go, but the government does try to help people. It's just that they have to deal with environmentalists, legislators, people that stand against ANYTHING that they do, and all other things. I still stand by my point that if people are apathetic, then nothing will ever change because, quite simply, no one gives a damn.

I am a little insane and I still needed apathy to get through the last four years of my life.

Interestingly enough, one of the most successful religions on the Earth is based on the premise of apathy: Buddhism. The goal of any Buddhist is to achieve enlightenment ie., the lack of all desire. Lacking all desire is apathetic. Not really a problem, or in fact answering any of the questions posed in the OP, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

"Put your hands in the air like you just don't care" as they used to say.... surely a better sign of apathy would be not too bother.

I'm not sure to be honest.... I don't think nice things are as widely reported in the media the doom and gloom surounding youths etc. is too much fun to report. I find if you dig below the surface there are alot of people who work hard to do good.

I suppose I'm apathetic but I think I know why. Everyone seems to be trying to save/fix/or better something. Save the environment, planet, people, homeless, ill, etc. I think sometimes the problems in the world simply feel like it's hopeless to try and solve them all, so why work on any of them.
I'm being asked to be aware of so much that I'm actually aware of so little

Wrap your head around that one gentlemen.

glad to see someone with a similar mind.

I spent the last two years of my life wanting something and needing something necessary for candid inner happiness, but not (even when rarely fiscally able) legally being able to a single thing about it.

well the poster was wondering about those with problems because of apathy, but I was just speaking of how apathy has benefited me.

Just speak your mind on apathy, your opinion of it and an example in your life.
