Well, I heard about this on CNN. A woman broke line or switched lines to join her cousin.
Here is what the police and witnesses said: Ellis was belligerent, cutting in line, shoving merchandise belonging to another customer to make way for hers on the conveyor belt, kicking one officer in the shin and splitting another's lip. Here is what Ellis said:Employees refused to give her change. They called the police. And when she was taken outside to the parking lot, an officer allegedly told her to "Go back to the ghetto." Another roughed her up, she said.

Witnesses also agreed with police, by the way, what nationality or whatever was she? Hispanic?
either side could be true, I don't know enough about this area's (which area?) police force to be able to tell which side is more likely.
there are, though, many cases of police beatings that get solved falsely. and many police are biased/racist to "ghetto"-ish people's faces, I myself have been subject to quite a bit of that before.
It's possible the witnesses could have been bribed, but not likely at all. Since there are witnesses on the cop's side, it shouldn't cause much controversy at all. and... What about the WalMart security tapes for the parking lot? if she had been beaten there, then it would show up.
considering its ghetto id say african american. well i thought it began with Ellis cutting in line which was in fact breaking a norm of society. Its just wrong lol. And more then likely it seems to be a cry for racial attention. Their were probably no bruises and i doubt she cared about exact change
If there were tapes of the beating, then it would be more presentable in court. With no tapes, there will not be disciplinary action. There will be no disciplinary action against the racial slurs without witnesses of that.
She may be subject to some charge for the actions she took.
Considering everyone said this person was being belligerent, I am inclined to believe them. If the cop did say something like that... GOOD! Ellis was in the wrong and needs to be taught a lesson.
I dont see why people think assaulting women is the right thing to do is they are out of conduct. Its actually pathetic. Just because we all dont see eye to eye doesnt mean we need to attack anyone different. Ye she was way out of line but just tell her. No need to punch her
