Sorry I couldn't get a screenshot of this. I tried 5 minutes of going to other pages and refreshing the page to find it, ironically running into it seconds before finding the thread. It is basically the evony ad at the top and the rest of the page is white. Like the rollover ads it inhibits viewing of other pages while using IE.
Actually, my contribution to this conversation was that IE fails.
Switch to something that is not IE. Fer serious. You are just begging to your internet to explode. Which is what the IE stands for: Internet Exploder.
Your argument of IE fails does not make the users of IE anymore able to get around this glitch. It would be way easier just to take down the ad rather than say "all users of IE must install all these seperate programs."
And I've not had the problem. Ever, actually. So...yeah
Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it's not there.
I've had a problem with it as well, and I have to refresh the page multiple times before it goes away. And no, switching to firefox isn't an option, because I hate firefox.
Thats weird because i use firefox and everything works fine on it, in fact I like it better than IE. But far as what to do, I don't know of anything except switching to firefox.
Try installing ANY other browser and see if the problem persists. I don't care if you hate FireFox, there's others out there, and IE... Meh.
Though yes, the site should be functional in IE as well, because compatibility should be considered, given that most internet users sadly still don't feel like finding a better browser than MS's standard thing...
But is it everyone who uses IE who has this trouble?
I use IE7 and have >>no problem whatsoever<< with these adds, so I don't know what's going on... :S
I simply react amazed when I see a new thread popping up about the problems with advertisements that block AG, preventing people to simply navigate/use the page...
Could it not be that the cause of this problem maybe lies with the 'Internet Security Packs' people use? Since they also provide with an add-blocker... Maybe some packs have better and some have worse ad-blockers in them?! :S
