i have had some pretty good games, my average is about a 2 kd ratio at around 20 kills at least. my 'good' game is about 30+ kills with low amount of deaths, i try to keep them low. my great games is 40+ kills with low deaths. i just got one of the best games i have ever gotten in cod5. 65 kills and 4 deaths in ground war - war at castle. here is how i did it.
I was the Marine Raiders and i do one of two things. 1, Snipe from the window. i always watch their enemy sniping postion for a bit by the ladder, if i dont see anything i continue watching the window. 2, i get a submachine gun (thompson) and rush in. i cook a grenade to about 2-3 seconds and throw it in the window. i basically ALWAYS get kills that way then i go upstairs and clear the room and try to hold it down for my teamates downstairs. We captured the flag and pushed forward. we now had to caputre the main entrance. i got my sniper class on and took a dead snipers rifle and started firing away. i got a few kills but someone came from behind and got me. I got my pistol out (.357 revolver) and ran back and got the upstairs clear. i put a betty in a hall behind a beam and a better between the ladder and the window entrance to the upstairs. I got abou 5 kills sniping and called my artillery on the flag to ensure my teamates couldnt be rushed and had some debris and smoke from the artillery as cover. it sort of has the 'tabun' effect and slows them down making them vulnerable to grenades, but if you plan on rushing the flag i suggest GETTING FLAK JACKET. I will explain later on how great flak jacket is. (after the story.) i kept getting dogs while i was picking ppl off and got killed every now and then to rack up another killstreak towards dogs. They are on their last leg, they have next to none momentum from us kicking them back and ALL of their team runs to the flag. when i was looking through my scope almost all of them had caps on, not helmets, meaning they had submachine guns. (I will explain about the caps and flak jacket after.) i started firing at them. the ptrs' crack rang out. within about 5 seconds, with its fire rate, all but about 2 were dead. i had to reload and that bought them the time to capture it. I tried to hold my ground but a guy got in the window and wasted me... then he rushed in and my betty killed him well i did the same thing, capture the upstairs, plant betties, and snipe towards the flags. we kept doing this until the round ended. i didnt save my dogs cause there was 3 minutes left and man i was really kicking them HARD. I got back to sniping and i was doing great.
The Aftermath... I had called: Recon 5 Artillery:3 Dogs:3. Challenges i noticed i completed: Colateral damage, rabid. my kills and deaths. 65 kills and 4 deaths too bad i didnt have it taped that would have been youtube material
Flak Jacket and Hats/Helmets.
Flak Jacket. Flak Jacket is a perk 2. it takes up one of the most usefull perk slots. most people go with juggernaut or stopping power, (juggernoob) but the thing they DONT realize is that flak jacket is actually very useful. with flak jacket, the only explosives can kill you are a direct hit from a: Sticky grenade, tank shell, rocket. im not sure about satchels right under u but i think those kill you too. they are great for ppl who rush the flag because they let u live. I HIGHELY recommend flak jacket on a tankbusting class because with satchels a sticky you can have the tank to yourself. just hope it doesnt have friends nearby and its good as gone.
Helmets/Caps I noticed this from the dead bodies. i thought your uniform only changed when you were a sniper (ghillie suit) but no, it doesnt just change. Submachine gunner's helmets are caps, Machine gunners, shotgunners, and riflemans' have helmets. (in this game) helmets dont really provide protection, they are just for looks :P but if you are every a sniper moving around and u see a body, you normally always walk over to it, but if it has a cap, it will probably have a submachine gun. I said probably because they might have switched weapons or had a pistol out (Etc.)
