The year is 1100. Pick a region to rule with absolute authority. For example you could not pick Spain, but you could choose Castile or Leon. If the country is small enough, like Aragon then you can have the entire country. Conquer your neighbors or be at peace and be conquered by them instead. Remember the best defense is offense. One of your greatest threats is rebellion by the peasants, so you must strive to make them happy.

Once we have around 5 players we can start.

You need wood and iron to make weapons. Gold is required to train your soldiers once you can equip them. You need to set your peasants to work gathering resources. It takes 10 peasants to get 1 wood or iron and 20 peasants for 1 gold. Weapons need 10 iron and wood to be made and it takes 50 gold to train an archer or spearman and 200 gold to train a knight. Once you have built up your army you can train thieves for 250 gold to steal resources from your neighbors and incite riots.

That seems rather time consuming . . . .

Aluminum

Aluminum wasn't discovered 'til about the 1930's . . . .

It won't be hard when you grow more peasants. Keep the resources down to just Forest, Iron mine, and Taxable Peasants for now you can do research later to get other ones.

I dedicate all of my peasants to discovering and finding some fish, so that I have a supply to feed a growth in population.

So go ahead and update it on your own. This is a game in which I actually trust you.

It's an unwritten rule in the Forum Games that you can't cheat unless specified otherwise. It's an honor thing.

That didn't work, dammit.

Lord: Orion Wileix Valaracov

Noblemen and Politicians: 16
Soldiers: 100
Trainees: 0
Knights: 0

I repeat the process until I get 2,000 peasants (can I do that?).

No. You have to do it over a period of at least 4 posts and they can't be back to back.
