Orion. He's bada*s. The Demigod of hunting. Or maybe he's a full God. I forget.

Anyways, he could hunt anything. Bears, deer, women. It's awesome. And he would catch almost all of his prey. Even better.

Here's the best: It took a freaking God to kill him, and even then, he got uplifted to the stars. He is also the owner of Sirius.

Bottom line, Orion rules.

Dionysus

http://universalheretic.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/dionysus.jpg

The Greek god Dionysus also referred to by name as Dionysos was the ancient Greek Deity of wine and fertility who played a major role in the lives of ancient Greeks. His role as the god of wine was as complex and multifaceted as was the way that wine was viewed and used in Greek society. Dionysus was also seen as having some level of influence in the music that also many times accompanied the drinking of wine as well as being viewed as a god of fertility.

It would appear that even in ancient Greece as it is today there was a connection between "wine women and song" that was characterized in this Greek god of "the party". Being that Dionysus arrived on the scene in the later stages of the development of Greek mythology there are several versions that account for his creation. In some Greek legends Dionysus was said to be the son of Zeus and Semele while in other legends he was placed as the offspring Zeus and Persephone who coincidentally happened to be a daughter of Zeus.

In works of Greek art that portrayed him he was pictured as being in his early twenties, handsome with effeminate leanings and was for the most part portrayed as being the &quotarty boy" of Greek mythology. Another role that Dionysus occupied in Greek mythology was as the patron deity of the stage and theater in Greek society and he would be the god that Greek actors paid homage to.

To many Greeks Dionysus represented escape from the harsh realities of day to day living and when wine was drank and one became intoxicated it Dionysus was seen as the responsible party for the effects of the alcohol and the festivities that followed. Because Dionysus was a late arrival in Greek mythology there are not as many myths involving him as there are with other Greek gods and goddesses of the time.

However; in one of the myths that tell of Dionysus he is described as being the son of Zeus and Semele. The myth tells of Semele being killed by Zeus while she is still pregnant with him. Zeus then retrieves the unborn infant from the dead Semele and places him in his thigh were he finishes his prenatal development. After his birth from the thigh of Zeus the young child Dionysus is then give by Zeus to some nymphs who are assigned the task of raising him.

Greek mythology is cool. Uranus was castrated and overthrown by his youngest son, Cronus who is a Titan. Then out of the genitals that fell to the sea, came Aphrodite. Cronus who found out that he too would be overthrown by his son, ate all his children. Then Zeus was born. Rhea (his mother) sought out Gaia (Cronus' mother) to help her get revenge and to protect Zeus. And much later Zeus poisoned his father so he would vomit up Zeus's siblings. Then he went to war. And blah blah.

My favorite gods would be Ares, Zeus and Athena. As for demi-gods, Perseus and Herakles.

I also find it interesting how Zeus was a playboy. He impregnated so many mortal woman, which made Hera jealous.

I love greek mythology!

Here is some fackt on my favorite gods.

Ares: God of war, bloodlust, violence, manly courage, and civil order. The son of Zeus and Hera, he was depicted as either a mature, bearded warrior dressed in battle arms, or a nude beardless youth with helm and spear. His attributes are golden armour and a bronze-tipped spear, and his sacred animals are the eagle owl, the vulture and the venomous snake.

Zeus: The king of the gods, the ruler of Mount Olympus and the god of the sky, weather, thunder, law, order and fate. He is the youngest son of Kronos and Rhea, whom he overthrew, and brother-husband to Hera. In artwork he was depicted as a regal man, mature with sturdy figure and dark beard. His symbols are the thunderbolt, royal sceptre, and eagle.
Hades:King of the Underworld and god of death, the dead, and the hidden wealth of the Earth. His consort is Persephone and his attributes are the key of Hades, the Helm of Darkness, and the three-headed dog, Cerberus. Despite being the son of Kronos and Rhea and the elder brother of Zeus, he is only rarely listed among the Olympians.

Oh i know about some titans too but i will only tell about one.

Cronos: He is the father of Zeus, Hades and Poseidon.
He is the son of Gaia(Mother earth) and Uranus(no not ur anus) OK i dont know that much more on Cronos. I hope this will do for now.

If you have some thing to add then do it.

My favorite god would probably be Hades, because he's the richest.
Titans would be a tie between Oranos and Kronos.
Heh... it seems that both of the above Titans were castrated by their youngest children.
