I didn't say you could make anyone else immortal. You would watch your family have children, die, their children have children, die, their.... you get the point. You would see the rise and fall of nations and all the destruction that goes along with it. And you would still be around to personally meet the Antichrist, which IMHO is not a very fun experience.

and you (i) would still be able to work that whole time, specializing in different trades (maybe helping others with the extra money i would gain, but regardless), benefiting whichever nation I intend.

why does it have to be fetuses though? why do they have stem cells and we dont?

Because the fetus is turning into a baby, it needs to grow many different organ systems. Think, the only thing it starts with is an egg and sperm, there needs to be a way to create different cells, so animals evolved a way to grow many of one type of cell and then change it, and then after that happend, the changed cells can split into more of those, therefore not needing more of the ones that can split into anything.

Stem cells are interesting, because they can take on the abilities of other cells. What if, theoretically speaking, they could take on super fast regenerative abilities? Like say your wounded, maybe the stem cells could be used to heal it at a much faster rate my multiplying the number of cells needed to heal a wound.

As I previously stated adults still have stem cells.

Like say your wounded, maybe the stem cells could be used to heal it at a much faster rate my multiplying the number of cells needed to heal a wound.

And then there was cancer...

And then there was cancer...

Are you inferring a similarity between stem cells and cancer?
What if, theoretically speaking, they could take on super fast regenerative abilities?

They easily could, if we funded research for them.

Cancer is any group of cells that multiply at a much faster rate than normal without stopping and create a growing mass.

Assuming you aren't trying to say stem cells are just like terminal cancer, okay.

Cancer is to many cells multiplying out of control. But cancer cells are regular cells in the case of a cancerous tumor or growth. The more cells you have, the faster something can get done. What if you had tons of stem cells converting their abilities to that of a white blood cell? Infection would never be much of a problem anymore. Or what about stem cells becoming skin cells and working to heal a cut or a wound much more quickly? It would be difficult work, but like German said enough funding might be the breakthrough

Too many white blood cells is a problem as well.
