Once you are well known all you cannot do anything without it being noticed. No matter what kind of attention you aim for, you most likely will be unable to keep on when you get well known. A good helper stays in the shadows, a good troll stays in the shadows. Otherwise it is either fan comments or banhammer.
Well, to be Well-Known and respected, you're going to need to be active, have a sense of humor, be an intelligent, and don't just be in it to be on the Top 100 list or the Most Improved user of the month.
To be Well-Known but no one really like you, just be a flamer or an immature douche really.
