well i have been into sniping in cod for... ever :P every since i got it i used rifles, then i wanted more range. i have a fast trigger finger from using rifles and i thought sniping and shooting fast as hell with pistols would make me a killing machine. i was right, except for one part. if i find myself with an enemy who ran to me while i was sniping, and i pull out a pistol, well, im already dead. by the time it takes to just pull out the pistol (which is fast) they will be shooting you and you just have no chance unless they suck... hard. so i was starting to quickscope. i have steady aim on my sniper class now because it makes it easier, but... its still hard. it has a learning curve. does anyone here have tips for me? and i already am using tactical so i can go in prone then shoot the enemy it helps alot but it helps the enemy try to aim for your head... but it still helps
One thing you could do is use the perk: Overkill. It gives you two primary weapons thus giving you the advantage of sniping and defending yourself. Another thing you could do is use Bouncing Betties/Claymores to protect yourself from enemies going to your spot. Hope it helps!
The only possible way to kill someone with a machine gun or something that shoots fast is either no scoping, quick snoping or elusiveness.
No scoping is by far the luckiest, and can't guarrentee results. All this is, is shooting at your oppentent withtout scoping and hoping it hits them. Since you'd be at such a close distance, it will probably one shot hit them.
Quick scoping is more complex but has better results. This requires you to tap your scoping button, and your scope should come up to your eye but you should not be able to see the lines and far away. It's very difficult to explain. But you get it to where the gun is half way to your eye. The reason being is that it will shoot exactly where it would shoot if you were aiming. So if hes right infront of you and you quickscope, you will hit him, and the bullet will not curve.
Elusiveness is , simply put, schooling your opponent. It just requires you to crouch and then charge your opponent and knife him, or crouch, pull out your pistol and kill him.
I pesonally prefer Quickscoping out of all the techniques, works best for me. Not to mention it also carries that 'WTF' factor when the opponent looks at his death replay
