Catholics accept Jesus as the Messiah. Jews believe the Messiah has not come yet.

Jews = Old Testament
Catholics = Old+New Testament

Catholicism is a branch of Christianity. I hate when people say they're two different religions.

----------
Christianity: (merriam-webster online)
1 : the religion derived from Jesus Christ, based on the Bible as sacred scripture, and professed by Eastern, Roman Catholic, and Protestant bodies
2 : conformity to the Christian religion
3 : the practice of Christianity

Catholicism: (dictionary.com)
the faith, system, and practice of the Catholic Church, esp. the Roman Catholic Church.

There wasn't a really good definition of 'Catholicism' but please note that it is a branch of Christianity just like baptists, followers of the church of Christ, 7th-day adventists.

Judaism was the religion before Christianity which is still practiced today. They believe that the savior hasn't come yet. They go by the Old Testament, Christians follow the Old and New.

Jews also still follow various ceremonial laws (such as not eating ham), whereas Christians don't follow these laws.

The main difference is that Christians believe that Jesus is the mesiah that the jews were waiting for.

Intresting that I have such an avatar at such a time as this.

Judaism - Old Testament
Catholicism - Old Testament + Apocyrpha + New Testament
Protastantism - Old Testament + New Testament

The Apocyrpha is a collection of books that is reguarded by Protestants as only history, not the holy word of God. They were found with other books in the dead sea scrolls. Catholics accept them as scripture as well. Interesting when Jews do not include them in their cannon.

A few examples are 1st & 2nd Maccabees, Tobit, Book of Enoch, Daniel 13 & 14 (which is really interesting as he kills a dragon)... among others.

I believe Judaism is very similar to Protestantism, except they don't believe Jesus is the Son of God and a few other difference.

Catholicism is difference because of the system. Instead of praying directly to God, you have to pray to the Saints who pray for you. Also, they regard Mary, Jesus' Mom, as holy and she's one of the main people you pray through.

I haven't had much exposure to either, but more Catholicism than Judaism (I had to go to a Catholic school for 2 years of my young life, it was terrible D

Not all Catholics pray to Mary, but certainly some of them do.
