Any of you guys heard of a band called nirvana before? They were a post-grunge band of the late 80's and early 90's. I've been a huge fan of Nirvana for the last few months, they are amazing. Sadly, their singer/guitarist Kurt Cobain died in '94, there are many conspiracy theories of how he died. People say it was suicide, others say it was murder.
Carlos Santana is one of the three greatest guitarists to have ever lived in my opinion. His compadres are Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix. Santana is one of the revolutionaries of rock n roll, and without work he, Clapton, and Hendrix did on guitar, musicians would not know the boundaries of the tool they play.
I think people are mixing up being a good guitar player and making good music. Because there is quite a difference. Also, the amount of influence they have on the world has nothing to do with how good they are. Santana: Good at playing guitar Cobain: Good at writing music for the guitar. Even though I'm a HUGE nirvana fan, I still have to admit Cobain wasn't the best guitarist. But he was a great musician in general.

Sadly people are waaaaay too impressed when a band like dragonforce get up and playing so fast that you cant hear the notes. Kurt Cobain was, im my opinion, a way better guitarist that carlos, only because of the melody, not the technical ability or the way you can spank your guitar in front of a crowd. Carlos still rocks da hoose tho!
