This is a feature I have seen on other sites and would like to see on Armor Games. When you comment on someone's profile, everyone can see it. That's kinda an invasion of privacy. However, Personal Messages can only be viewed by the recipient (and mods of course), so no one else can view it. There could be a little tab indicating if you have any messages. It's kind of like email, but on the site, so you don't have to go to another site.

Have you thought about getting AIM or MSN?
The comment function on the profiles should not be used as a chat service (even though it is), so basically we can say this: "If it does not have relation to the site, why would we care?"
If you don't want people to be able to read your comments, use a chat service, chat programme or get the person's email and talk through that. It might be easier to use the comments, but that also means others will be able to both see the comments, and report anything in it they find offensive.
Besides, if you don't want some people to see your comments, there is a chance something bad is going on.

Graham's link: Here goes to a list where the most common suggestions are listed, and as you can see, private messaging is on it along with a load of other things. The staff have heard it a number of times, and though they might consider it, they do not want people to keep going on about it. Sadly it lacks some explanations on why some things are there.
Anyway, for time being, for "secret" messages, use an offsite programme, that way the mods don't have to care about it either.
