Being too spammy, being a repeated topic, being inappropriate.

Basically a thread not fitting the guidelines.

Some extremely bad ones get deleted all together.

As mentioned:
If a thread breaks the rules of this site, if it is pointless, or simply, if it is answered.

Reasons to lock a thread:
The OP is not enough to make a proper discussion.
The thread cannot maintain a proper discussion.
The thread is pointless.
The thread is made as a chat.
The thread is made for gaining AP.
The thread is about specific members, or will be about specific members.
The OP is made for trolling.
The thread will lead to trolling.
The OP is made for flaming.
The thread will lead to flaming.
The OP is spam.
The thread will lead to spam.
The OP advertises a site.
The OP advertises a thread.
The thread is answered.
And so on.
