Because google isn't always right, and we want other people's opinions. Most of the questions are questions you can not look up the answer to.

well on here people get AP for it so they think, oh why not do this then look it up on google haha

There are so many question topics because we dislike Google and generally every search engine.

Because people are woefully ignorant of the world.

Ignorance per se is not nearly as dangerous as ignorance of ignorance.
