Growing up my mom was catholic so celebrated on a religious level. As an atheist I enjoy the holiday. I like giving gifts to my friends and loved ones. I also get to have my F*&%ing egg nog!
Christmas can be enjoyed just as well as a holiday of the season with no religious implications as it can with those religious parts added in.
Of course I celebrate Christmas. I'm agnostic, but that doesn't mean I can't celebrate the holiday(which is national in any case). I mean...it wouldn't matter if I was the president of the Atheists Vehemently Against Religion League, I'd have to be in a straitjacket to pass up a chance for free presents and candies. xP Lol. But seriously, it's not just about the religious aspect, it's a time of peace and goodwill, as well as having presents to give away! =D
It's more just eating, talking, and handing out a hundred gifts for 15 or so people in a crowded living room -_-'. But there are some religion-related things my relatives throw in.
You mean you don't get candy in your stocking and candycanes aren't in your tree? *shakes head sadly* At my house we get Christmas candy. Also; have you never heard of the very delicious gingerbread house?
