Just like all my posts, I originally write them on Microsoft Word. Sometimes it doesn't convert well when it's pasted on AG:
Israel recently proposed to give some preferential treatment and benefits to any citizen who carries an organ donation card. Though the benefits were not too specific, anyone willing to donate organs will be given an advantage if they were to ever need an organ transplant. So if I have an organ donation card, and my brother does not, and we both need a liver transplant, I would likely get it over my brother.
Though this is a step in the right direction, it is not enough. Here is what needs to be done. Anyone who is a willing organ donor will receive an organ donation if they need it. Those who refuse to donate organs can never receive an organ donation. Ever. Even if there are extra organs.
Not being an organ donor, though a personal decision is also a selfish decision. Most people who are not organ donors would gladly receive a donation if needed, but are unwilling to give. If you are not willing to give your organs (which are useless pieces of flesh when you die), then why should you receive any?
It would be like demanding to pay no taxes, but that you should have access to roads, police, fire department, social security etc. If you don't give to the system, you don't receive the benefits. In order for these services to work, the people have to collectively support it. Even if I don't think I'll ever call the police in my life, I might have to someday, which is why I must pay taxes towards a police force. I feel the same goes for organ donation. If you want the benefits, then you better be willing to give to people in need.
What about religious beliefs? Plus, you have to be over 16 (I think) to sign one of those cards without your parents' consent. What if they condemn the practice?
I don't see your point... If somone is going to die and they need an organ, like a kidney, then why whould you refuse serves just becase they never donated?
I think a better solution whould be to pay for the organs... Like 500$ for a good kidney, 300$ for a gullblatter and so on
If you want the benefits, then you better be willing to give to people in need.
this is someone's life we are talkng about though. many people have religious/conscientious objections to organ donations. if they cannot give their organs, they should still be able to receive one.
It's not "you have to give before you receive." It's you have to have an organ donor card (or sign the back of your license in the US) to be eligible to receive organs.
In terms of children, they would not make that decisions. They would receive organs no matter what.
many people have religious/conscientious objections to organ donations.
In terms of religion, there are many religions that don't believe in the transfer of blood. So if they can't give organs, then they can't receive them. Their beliefs fit under my system. Problem solved.
Those who have beliefs which allow them to receive, but not give are out of luck. Religion needs to modernize. Get over it.
No. I am not giving my kidney, my spleen, my lungs, unless I am dead as a doornail.
Good news, I don't think they have any intention of strapping a perfectly healthy you to a table and ripping your lungs out before your eyes just because someone else needs them too.

The Government has several conspiracies out for me already. Yes they do.
if you are one to believe in such "government conspiracies" then your intelligence should be under question.
Actually, if I'm saying that, my mental stability should be under question. If I believe the government is out to harm me, should I really be considered sane?
ok so i accidentally hit submit before I could finish typing....

Problem solved.
you are quite ignorant, in china the black market for unmarked organs is almost non existent as the majority of practice happens in Mexico. because chinese government has been cracking down on the organ trafficking scene for 10 years now, plus most of the people who need organs but dont want to wait are obviously quite wealthy which is why they can afford these black market operations. (which are not necessarily cheap, because of the high demand of organs)
most of these operations are based in mexico or russia, close to first world nations with a lot of rich white folks.
Unless you are willing to pay. A lot.
I like my organs. I love them. I need them. Here's why:
Because if I ever lose function of one, I have another. In real life, you are still going to wait months before one becomes available.
And guys, you already have to pay for them, and they aren't in the hundred range. They're in the ten thousand range.
actually if you did any study, healthy kidneys range in the 60k-65k range and livers go up to 80k.
police crack downs on organ trafficking has toughened but there are still alot of them going on due to the fact that the government cant stop the demand of organs.
so please read/listen/watch books/magazines/radios/news before posting ignorant comments.

Better?

There are quite a few places to legally get them. Well, only a few. But enough.

You don't hear news about organ trafficking. Ever. At least on normal stations.

I know how to solve organ donation problems! We could enforce a government tax that every person must give at least one organ. That's fair, right?... Seriously though, there's no way. There's too many people and either you can take it from someone who's living and kill them or wait for them to be dying anyways.
Those who have beliefs which allow them to receive, but not give are out of luck. Religion needs to modernize. Get over it.
Healthcare should be free at the point of delivery for anyone. Witholding organs due to religious beliefs would be discrimination - something i'm not a big fan of.
