I recently heard about this and was wondering what exactly it entailed?

Agnosticism cannot be considered a religion.

Why not?

I don't think anyone claimed that it was a religion.

Why not?

Agnosticism in itself is not a religion. Agnostics find it impossible to form a strong belief about something for which there is no evidence either way. Religion requires you to do this. That's not to say agnostics don't have inclinations, you can be atheist agnostic or thiest agnostic, but you basically think it is silly to discount the existence/non existence of god completely.

I have to admit. No one ever started a war because they believed there is a possibility of a supreme entity.

World peace cannot be achieved as long as the masses of men still cling to centuries old mythology as fact.

Agnosticism can't be a religion. Any agnostics wake up on Sunday morning, drive to an unmarked building and worship the potential existence of someone or something they are not sure exists?

"Praise be to someone, we don't know who, or if you even exist, but praise be to you just in case you do exist"

"Amen"

Yeah, Agnosticism's been summed up here, but I find that it comes with a margin of respect for other religions.

Didn't see that. It should be ''it comes with a margin of respect for other belief systems'', which I think is generally speaking, true. If you haven't hedged your bets, and accept that either possibility is there, then it would be hypocritical of you to be disrespectful of those who have made a firm choice.

Wow, I've never quite heard it described that way before. It just makes theists sound insane, lol.

It's not necessarily lack of knowledge, it's the belief that you CAN'T know.

agnostic
1 : a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (as God) is unknown and probably unknowable; broadly : one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god
2 : a person unwilling to commit to an opinion about something &ltolitical agnostics>

Agnosticism, like Theism and Atheism, isnt a religion. But an agnostic can still have a religion. These Ism's alone just dont have enough weight to them to be a religion, it is simply one belief. Were as a religion is made up of many beliefs.
Beliefs arent even necessarily about the existence or nonexistence of a god/gods but are even just morals. Look at the Ten Commandments the last six dont even have anything to do with god.

Not even about morals. I could BELIEVE that someone (not you so don't get all offended) is a retard without knowing whether or not that person is an actual, honest to goodness retard. I also could be truly committed to the belief that this same person (again, not you) is a retard. I am in no way agnostic about this person being a retard. This is not a moral judgement. (Again, just an example inspired by someone who left a comment on my profile.)

Also, site your source or the Gods of Copyright Infringement will smite thee.

Jeesh, one little slip-up sends the whole conversation in a new direction...

Anyway, that's my bad (I think?). When I said "other religions," I wasn't intending for anybody to think I was including Agnosticism as a religion. I meant excluding Agnosticism, but, whatever. It seems to have stemmed some decent debate.
