OK so lately I've been getting chain letters that say on January 10, 2010, playstation network is going to make their users pay for it and if we don't want to we had to forward it to 15 people so we can have it for free. I've looked it up and I found nothing. I don't know whether this chain letter is true or a myth. When I was looking it up I found that some people said that there was only going to be a premium account that had a few additional features. So if you know anything about whether or not we are going to have to pay for PSN or if there's only going to be a premium account or if none of this is true please post it here!
I don't think it would necessarily be a bad thing for PS3 owners. The fact it's free is probably the main reason it's inferior to Xbox Live.
Although, like the others said, chainmail isn't exactly a reliable source. If this was going to happen, no doubt Sony would be all over you with advertisements of the new scheme.
I hope that we don't have to pay for PSN. It's one reason why I got a PS3. I got the same thing from a guy I don't even have on my friend's list, then I got one in French, which made me think it must be a chain letter. But Sony would tell the media that they were going to make you pay for it.
Sony is going to release a Premium service for those who want it. For those who want it for free, still get all the features they have now, but none of the Premium features Sony is going to release.

the chainmail is always a lie, one actually said they would make halo for ps3 =D lmao then xbox would be basically crap and the fees for online plus the red ring, it would go out of business, there is no way that would happend. they are all fake. the reason ps3 can get more people the xbox is psn is free unlike live
Maybe for extra premium stuff but GAMING will all ways be free . If not then there would be a huge riot and everybody would be burning there ps3s , and attacking sony corporations around the world . Well maybe not every body , but I would lol .
I get tons of chain mail crap. As far as I'm concerned, this is just as stupid as everything else I've gotten. So I just deleate it all right away...
I mean, when you think about it, if sony was going to make you pay for PSN, they would publicly announce it... Not spread word through chain mail that alot of people believe to be fake. (myself included)
In chainmails, there is little to no truth in them so you really shouldn't even read them, little alone do what they say or believe them. And yeah, thingthingfreak got it right on the nose.

EVERYONE THE CHAIN LETTERS ARE NOT TRUE! I spoke to a PSN agent yesterday he said that as far as he has heard there's no premium account and if we don't have to pay to play online. I guess that what he said was true because today is January 10, 2010 and PSN is still free. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
