Just the other day, I was talking away to my friend on his comments, waiting for him to respond, when I realized, he might not be online, so it's pathetic and pointless to keep waiting. So I started playing some games, and while i'm doing that, he's responding on my profile! I didn't see what he said until later, when he was offline. I think that you should be able to see if people are online or offline.
I think they should activate this option again, it would be a big help indeed! But playing games while you wait for a comment isn't all that bad, is it? :P
Just give it some time I guess, it will return sooner or later...
