I was wondering if there is anyone who knows this game and could help me with it...
I bought this game somewhere in the 90's, but never got it to work on my PC... At first I thought it was because of the PC I was using at that time, but later on when I bought a new PC it didn't work on that one either... I ended up buying the game THREE! times, but was never able to play it and now it (or rather they) sits in my storage collecting dust...
Shortly added... I installed the game, all went well, and when I open the setup and complete it, the game decides to leave me cursing because it simply quits... boohoo...
I know I'm a little impatient... but I don't want this thread to get buried before anyone who DOES know it, and wants to help me, can comment on it... :/
Because it was made so early, it probably doesn't run on your system. What system do you have? If it's XP or newer, you will probably need to go into compatibility mode to run the game.
I can't find this game anywhere on the Internet; my answer was sort of a generic for old games. Otherwise, it could have been that you failed some system requirement. You may want to check video, graphics, and sound cards, as well as memory.
Ok... I really feel stupid about this... and I mean REALLY REALLY STUPID! :S
I looked for the three games I bought (should have done that in the first place), I found them and I read the name of the game on the boxes... it clearly states something different than I used in the thread's name...
This is REALLY shameful to say... but here it goes...
The game is called "Flight Of The Amazone Queen"... don't laugh...
I even found an article on wikipedia about it, making it even more painful... *hides in a dark corner*
Yeah, the reason you can't play it on Windows is because it was made for Amiga and DOS, which are basically a big step below Windows. However, if you use emulators or ScummVM, you should be able to play the game for free.
Well, you see... the problem is that I CAN get the game installed on all three pc's at that particular time. And this is in the MS-Dos mode all three pc's had, the oldest could be started up in either windows or MS-Dos mode, the other two had a separate window in which you could use MS-Dos. The latter two I also used to play DOOM I, II and Final DOOM and those all worked like a charm! DOOM + charm = bad comparing, I know... LOL =D
Allright, now moving back to subject, then after installing, I execute the proper .exe file and I get the normal setup screen. So far... so good...
But then when I do all the things required in the setup and want to finish it by pressing the 'Run Game'-button...
