That's what the tags are can be used for. The most common ones can be found the Popular Games listing on the front page. Unfortunately, there is no way to search by tags and the tags are not systematic. Clicking the tower tag will bring up a list of all games, which are mostly tower defense games.

That's like dividing Christianity into even more sects: There's no point, and it will just become more confusing and make people want to leave.
Protestant, Orthodox, East Orthodox, Catholic, Roman Catholic... The list goes on and on. If we were to add a category for every new special game, we would have a list that would stretch from London to New York (If it were in font size 500). And I don't think we want to waste the server space on that.
