It could be, but WW1 and WW2 were really close in the timeline. Soon 100 years since the WW1 has gone. I don't think we would call it a world war though....
I'm not sure. Just like HaSaSSin said, if the government of any country does something really stupid it could happen.
if there ends up being a ww3 in the next few years and the us gets involved then it is all obamas fault. thats just it all wars are avoidable, if we are in one there is someone to blaim. just look back at all the wars, they all have someone to point a finger at.
I think it could really happen like the two previous.The economy crisis can really get worse in some countries,and that may be one of the reasona that a new world war can turn into reallity.Anyway,there can be too many reasons for a war like that as everyone previous mentioned and if that really happens it will be catastrophic for all humanity.

I think, if there was a ww3, it would either be extremely devestating, or the UN and a bunch of countries would join together to quickly eliminate the threat.
I don't think the terrorists can harness an army big enough for a world war XD and I doubt the world is a fitting place for guerrilla tactics HAHAHA And yes it could happen XP in my opinion of course... but theses days what event isn't global???

Some countries might end up richer then others and that might spark a war! Japanese might bomb Darwin again!! Betrayal... A Country might betray us all!
I think well because if Iran attacks Israel and America support Israel. Then Russia and Korea will meddler also Then its nuke time and Europe is then lost. Then its WW3
Everyone will invade the middle east for teh oily goodness, USA first. The UN will fall apart in the ensuing resource struggle, and China will for an alliance with India, and invade it's neighbours, then use it's newfound might to seize the middle east. Most NATO countries will probably band together, and it will then devolve into a huge, unwinnable conventional war, with Russia joining it's neighbours in China. Australia will fall to the Eastern Alliance, but America will invade Canada, then invade South America, basically asserting that it rules NATO now. It will then devolve into a drawn out, bloody conventional war, with both sides afraid to use nukes. Huge casualties, both civilian and professional. Conscription will be enforced from age 13.
End 1. One side will eventually 'win', and promptly die of A) starvation, B) overpollution, or C) sea level change.
End 2. Massive nuclear exchange. All Earth life obliterated, except for possibly microscopic lifeforms clinging to black smokers dozens of miles under the ocean.
Timeline: 2030-2140 for End 1, 2030-2070 for End 2.
I see it starting with a huge cyber attack from some country most likely China due to past knowledge and recent attacks (notice I'm saying starting at China not because of China). It also has a massive amount of computers that could be easily become part of a huge zombie botnet.
Most likely the hacking will be on a Global scale and will affect many companies like Microsoft, adobe ,google, Antivirus companies, government offices, ISP providers, banks ect.. You can start to see how this will get ugly pretty quickly. From then on I have no idea.
