So when I realized that Age of War 2 was on Maxgames, I decided to go take a little peek at it. I played through through the whole game on easy just to get a quick overview of the new game. As I was playing through it, I started to wonder if I was still playing the first Age of War.
Quite honestly, there is very little difference between Age of War and Age of War 2, and it was MASSIVELY disappointing to me. The only significant differences are the unit and tower upgrades which add a new strategy, but no real earth shattering changes.
Age of War 2 is just Age of War 1 revamped with shiny new graphics and a couple new ages that aren't really even necessary.
In Louissi's blog, a longgg time ago when the game was still in relatively early development, he showed (with pictures) how he was going to have three spawn points with three "lanes" along with barricades that you could make. This sounded like an absolutely GREAT idea to me and it was what I expected, a great, innovative, game changing idea.
I guess I shouldn't have held this sequel up to as high of standards, because it really was disappointing.
In my opinion it was a disappointment but I can't say it was a Huge disappointment, it's still a fun game just too much similar to the first one.
oh and this is how age of war 2 was SUPPOSED to look like
It's fake...It was'nt suppose to look like that...
It's real, not a fake.
I can understand why he decided to not make the multi-player and the 3 lanes but he could at least made 2 types of "lanes", one for ground units and one for air units, something like Colony, ground units that can attack air units, air units that can attack ground units and so on...
Ummm no It's a free flash game! Don't expect much from something thats free...
It is a flash game, what did you expect anyway.
Yes, it is just a flash game, but in today's flash game world, very high caliber flashgames ARE present. The type of game that Age of War is, and the anticipation and following it has, it IS competing with those high caliber flashgames, such as Sonny, Last stand, and Warfare 1944. The changes from the prequels to the sequels to all those games I listed were very significant, unlike Age of War.

Actually that was on his old blog. Along with pictures of it.

I agree, and to be honest, I didn't appreciate the first one, the men were skinny, the armor was dull and the whole perspective of the game was stupid, I actually have ALOT more fun on Age of Empires II, because it's a much more realistic perspective. I know it's a Flash Game, but hey, look at Colony. Or Crimson Warfare. Or Weapons. Or Sonny 1 / 2.
And you couldn't save your progress, it was a single fight between 1 lane with simple units in my opinion, might be ok to pass some time, though.
I guess I shouldn't have held this sequel up to as high of standards,
I didn't, what makes you guys like Age of War I in the first place? O.o
I'll be honest, Age of War was great. But Age of War 2 was crappy... But you can't blame the guy for not putting multiplayer in... It would take a lot of time and it would be very hard to come up with new ideas for the ages
