what is dubstep

So is anybody a fan of Dubstep on AG? Its not a really mainstream so I don't expect people to know what it is but Im hoping there are some fans here.

Datsik, Broken note, Koan sound and Flux pavillion. Im still quite new to the genre so Im open to artists and different sound.

I have to say Im quite addicted to it as well.

OSC - Evolution, probably my favourite dubstep tune at the moment, but I'm going through a bit of a dnb phase right now, so I'll have to dig through my itunes to find more dubstep. Nice to finally see a topic on here not related to rap/rock though.

No problemo. This being an American site, it's not surprising you haven't heard of it. It originated in London UK from grime, a rap genre. Watch the f*** out for it. What distinguishes it from other electronic music is what I like to call the 'wobble'. You'll understand if you listen to some of it.

Oh also notice how the intro melody is a cover of Metallica's 'Wherever I May Roam'. Now, I'm not a huge metallica fn, but props to Chase&Status for having the cojones to go outside their genre.
