It's defiantly not the Barenaked Ladies, they're not over-rated, but there close. Nor is it Green Day, a bit like the Barenaked ladies in overrated, underrated terms Boiled in Lead, no, nobody's heard of them
Oh yes, Great Big Sea is underrated, they're and Irish mix band, they're amazing, yet only some people have heard of them!
R.E.M. is also underrated, awesome band. Amazing talent, but only some people have heard of them, maybe more underrated that Great Big Sea.
Nor is it Green Day, a bit like the Barenaked ladies in overrated, underrated terms
green day is nowhere near underrated. in 2005, they were all I heard about. I couldnt turn the radio on without hearing their voice. I couldnt turn on the tv without hearing their name being mentioned. at least now theyve calmed down, but for a while they were the most overrated band in the world.
I think the Foo Fighters. On this site pertectually most haven't heard one song by them. So many top artists though have and enjoy touring with them. Sad because they have many meaningful songs and some very thought out ones. Most Nirvana followers on this site, however see Nirvana as the better band, even though Nirvana didn't put out to much in albums.
I think the Foo Fighters.
Okay, the foo fighters are no where near underrated. They were huge for a while and now are still listened to. I listen to them everyday.
They're just a little old. In their heyday they had quite the following. Gogol Bordello is a little underrated. I think most people have heard of them, but have only listened to one or two of their songs. I never hear them on the radio (but then again I don't get many stations). Their music is really good to drive to. They can't be too popular at any rate because the google search bar doesn't automatically fill in the "o" when you type in "gogol bordell_"
I would have to say Protest the Hero is the most underrated band. Almost none of my friends have heard of them and I personally think that they are great.

I meant on this site. Not in the world of music.

I agree, how can they be underrated? They are on MTV all the time and I don't know anyone who hasn't heard of them. On this site even people talk about them all the time on many threads.

I really don't see how they are overrated, if not that many people still haven't heard one song by them. They are one of those bands sorta like REM that went unnoticed in the 90's.
a lot of good indie bands are underrated. Of course taste is different, but I would have liked to actually buy a CD of bands like Passion Pit or Sunset rubdown at a local store. Well, if they don't want my money, iTunes loves it.
As well, it depends on where you live. There are bands over here in Europe, nobody in America or Canada has even heard of. But they are not bad (of course, for some of them it, it is no waste you haven't heard a song).
I wonder though what happens, once an Indie-group gets all popular. Would that still count as Indie?
Bloodhound Gang. Why are they not ridiculously famous and popular
Ur kinda right...but they are a bit crazy maybe they dont work that hard to be famous or have sucess. Most all bands u ppl said I dont even heard about them so or they are overrated or just sux...
