Pornography is the largest industry in the world. Its disgusting, but true. _____________________________________________ Join me in my quest to get Signatures enabled
wow! Use an abstract example and you get this.. >_<
anyway, what I meant to say is that you don't need a higher level of education to be any of those. As a golfer, you hit the ball and hope the wind is in your favor. As a solider, you just have to point and shoot. As a porn star, all you need is a camera.
I know there is some specialty training for all of those jobs, but you really don't need to go to college for all of them.
But education like school is mostly needed. Example we all use power and engineers maintain whatever power source we are accessing and those engineers require schooling in the field. So I would go with it is a must.

I suppose that this argument doesn't apply to every country. But America, you see, is a republic. This means that everyone can vote to elect people to represent them.
not necessarily. You can make good money being a professional golfer, a soldier, or a porn star [without education]
. These people will still be voting. Maybe someone can make a living with little or no education. But do you want this person to be voting? Do you want someone who knows little history, nothing about economics, nothing about science, and can't even dissect a polital speach to be voting for a world leader? I read the editorials in my paper everyday. Many of these people writing in them don't even know what socialism means. Many politicians today state that they will fight socialism at all costs. And people elect them because they have no idea what socialism is. This disturbs me greatly. We get the government we deserve. Imagine what this government would be like if we weren't educated at all.
I think kids need to have a good education for better paying jobs
People should learn what they want, when they want, and the depth in which they study a certain topic. If one wanted to be good at the history of music and musicians then let them study it and forget the compulsory study of maths and English.
And if someone decides to take advantage of no schooling and do not educate themselves then they deserved to be screwed.
I'm completely sure that education (at least Middle school) is a MUST. It really pays off later on in the life. Of course there is a chance to be successful without education but the chance is just too small. In older age studying should be optional because people already know what they want to achieve and what to do.
And if someone decides to take advantage of no schooling and do not educate themselves then they deserved to be screwed.
But do I deserve to be screwed because someone else decides they don't need education? No one is an island. A person's ignorance will have far reaching repercussions. I already mentioned the example of voting. I don't want someone who isn't educated voting on things that will effect me. But the effects are so much greater than just that. For instance, the children of uneducated parents will have some disadvantages in life. The children of parents who did not go to college are more likely themselves to not go to college. Source: NCES
So, do their children deserve this, as well? Society as a whole would benefit from requiring education to 12th grade.
education is alot, its the future, i think, the only way we can truely get ahead is to drop EVERYTHING that envolves violence and anything without logic and then start over. the only way you learn from birth is from being taught, if you arent taught the bad things, you only know good. heres an example.
schools teach about drugs. they think this will stop you from doing drugs. they tell you, almost vividly, how it will effect you body, both positively and negetively. the negetives outweight the posetives, but to some people, the positives sound great so they do them and yeah, if they didnt learn it, they wouldnt be as likely unless someone told them to in the future, but where would they have learned it from? the makers of it? the founders, finders :P of it? but what happens when they all die, then people realize its not good for you and stop. lol
I'd say that we need a good education in life, not just for a job but also for our everyday life too. We want to compete with China, India, and other countries don't we, yet we drop out of high school or ignore college. Unless your Bill Gates, dropping out of college won't help than.
this isnt somalia. not any idiot can pass an IOT or even an INCOT course for that matter. youd be surprised how many successful businessmen and women are ex military. it teaches you to cope well with pressure and it makes you seem like a capable pair of hands to potential employers. not to mention the many trades you can learn in the forces. ill stop sounding like an AF recruitment officer now though.
to the op in general of course you need education, in the developed world at least, since the vast majority of unskilled labour has been exported to the 3rd world. combine this with the devaluation of uni degrees and education in vocational jobs like plumbing and building jobs are actually becoming more valuable.
Because of all this school problems I've been through, i'd rather educate myself. But... since my parent's wouldn't support me at educating myself, i would have to leave that option.
I'd say that we need a good education in life, not just for a job but also for our everyday life too.
Yes i agree with that, if we study a lot for something, any job, we can get to be important persons in life, just like that weird guy called Bill Gates, as in you can study for Electronic Engineer, learning HTML is easy, for me.
