the travelers sat beside the fire, turning their wood built rotisserie with their hunted meal. "we're not safe here," one said through chattering teeth. the cold bit almost as hard as the travelers clenched mouths. "no shit you moron!" slavict barked angrily. "if only your pessimistic attitude went south for the winter." there was an unsettling quiet. the irony was, there were no birds to go south. thus, groz's attitude remained. there was a sudden, howling screech, and a giant monster with huge fangs came from out of the darkness. it grabbed one unfortunate traveler in its jaws and bit him in two. blood was everywhere. it reached out with a clawed hand for another one and decapitated him, his lifeless head tumbling on the gray snow that was now red with blood. "Ah fuck!!!!" slavict screamed. he pulled out a home brewed bomb constructed with a few things like gun powder and a paper towel for a fuse, and lit it, before hurling it at the monster. it went inside its mouth and exploded in a ball of orange flame. the creature went down, but in the distance they could hear several inhuman screams. "ah shit, its the zombies!" slavict yelled. the surviving group hurried down a hill of trees and onto the road. on the left, the first group of zombies formed. they were at the end of the road, their yellow, lifeless eyes, their sunken and sallow pale skin, their mouths ajar and smeared with blood. they screamed and charged for the group. there were two ways, a slide down a rocky slope or zombie lunch. "down the slope quickly!" slavict yelled. they slid down on their bellies on backs over rocks and dirt, gaining speed. "ah shit!" one group member yelled before colliding with a tree and dyeing. the rest continued on in a valley that stunk of chemicals and toxic gases. "this place reeks," bortrov said. they headed into a cave, where they pulled out flash lights and made their way deeper in. "it's an old plutonium mine," slavict said. "the zombies won't follow us back in here.
You should establish some sort of connection with these characters instead of jumping into the middle. I couldn't read past the first sentence because of this.
