So, apple has now released info about their new tablet. They also talked about how the gaming on the will be something that no one has experienced yet. what do you guys think? Will apple fall for their new product?
I think it is a good idea. With my ipod touch I find some of the games with small joysticks on the screen very hard to play, I think this is awesome. It is also better for browsing the web because of the bigger screen.
What do you mean by thee? Oh and just to let you window fanatics know, with all the macs and the new ipad, all the browsing on the internet, you can't get viruses, malware or any other crap.

And if don't use the toilet as a brain, it's pretty simple and easy to avoid viruses.
Honestly, the iPad's gaming will probably follow the DS's touch pad gaming very closely in this regard: a touch screen is very useful for this such as menus, mini-maps, units stats and upgrade options, things such as that, but for actual gaming beyond turn-based gameplay (TB Strategy and Board Games mainly) touch screens tend not to work as well as either buttons / analog sticks or mice because they're simply either not precise enough to be used (the icons, buttons, etc. are too small) or the gameplay is sacrificed because in making everything big enough to be accurate there's a loss of options, controls, or something else. The iPad isn't made for gaming. Honestly, I feel like it's innovate but isn't appealing to any particular aspect of a computer / netbook / anything else.
Sorry to say, you can't compare the ds to the ipad. The ds has one horrible touch screen. The iPad is like the iPod touch, it is multi touch, not single(the dsi is single).

Understood and agreed, but for the basis of my argument I think it's valid. My point was that touch-screens in general, whether multi or not, tends not to lend itself well to gaming although I will say the iPad has a better chance to be a gaming machine than the DS touch screen for the reason you mentioned, I just don't think it would make a very good game system either.
i think it will FAIL for gaming now im no where near smart when it comes to computers i think it would be allright for flashgames but for games that you have to install no..not very much space in it im sure graphics card and RAM are not very well built for gaming i think the ipad was just meant to be used for casual browsing and light business use
