Still a question popped up for me while I was reading the posts above...
Armor Games only accepts Flash games, yet FLA is the format Flash uses... huh?! o_O I see a contradiction there! Or am I talking rubbish, since I don't understand programm code? :P
Since the problem is solved, I guess this thread can be closed then?

Correct. You are talking rubbish. =D
Ok, so only Flash (The program) can open FLA files. However, that FLA file can be published into a SWF, MOV, etc. file. The default is SWF. So SWF files can play flash, but can not open and edit the file itself.

Oooohhhhwwww... *rubs face real hard like the guy from Family Ties*
Guess I really AM getting too old for this... *sighs*
I read everything you posted in your reply... read it twice... and again... but... sorry, I really try to get it, but all that I manage to compute in my brain on this is "gagadadadooboogiggiboodababa"... :P
Still, thanx for the lesson on it Axel! I just don't have the IQ to get it... either that or I'm really too old for this...
SWF plays flash, but can't edit the file. FLA edits the file.
So if you want to post a game online, you would use SWF.
But if you wanted to edit a flash game, you would use FLA (and some AS files)
If you want, I can make it more confusing.
SWF files are FLA files that arn't FLA files but are SWF files, so a SWF is a FLA but not a FLA because a FLA is a FLA. And SWF files are smaller than FLA files, so SWF files are better than FLA files but not better than FLA files because FLA files can be edited and SWF files can't.
FLA and SWF are two different types of files (extensions or formats)
FLA is an editable flash file that you can always open and edit and save. FLA can only be opened if the user has Flash (the editor which costs money) so it's pointless to post it.
SWF is the final file exported by Flash (the editor) to be played by other users and requires only the (Free Flash player) to run and it's not editable. this is the file you want to give to the public.
I can't imagine any simpler explanation that this!
I really appreciate the effort you're making to explain all this to me, but somehow I will never be able to understand this I guess...
I sort of understand what the both of you are saying, but I hereby accept my old age with dignity and with the fact that I am simply not cut out for this computer-wisdom.
Allthough I had a good laugh with the explanation you gave me Axel! =D
I'll be on my way now to sign myself in to either a retirement home for the older aged, or an psychiatric institution... all depending on which one comes across my path first! LOL
