look at the title.

post youre favorite book and author and what kind of book it is.

and most importantly why you like it.

my favorite book is "A Clockwork Orange" by anothony bergess.

the caliber of writing that he has is just amazing.

with the slang and the style of writiing that he does to hide the violence and rape and what not is just truley amazing

Also, my favorite book is probably Catch 22 by Joseph Heller. Just everything about it is amazing.

The Lord Of The Rings. J.R.R. Tolkien.

Absolutely epic. Invented a whole world and races of people. The precursor to works such as The Chronicles of Narnia & Star Wars.

Can't deny that Tolkien is the father of all modern fantasy, but I much prefer the Discworld, since it has both sweeping fantasy laugh-out-loud quirkiness, my cup of tea is a strange tasting one to others.

I also quite enjoy the Science-fiction works of one Arthur C. Clarke, who is probably best remembered for tales such as 2001: A Space Odyssey (he both wrote the novelization and co-wrote the screenplay for the 1968 classic film with Stanley Kubrick), Childhood's End, Rendezvous With Rama, and The Fountains of Paradise, among others.
