At this point i have only posted in the WEPR forums once. The reason im making this thread is just to know why is the WEPR forums so good.
To me it seems like a flame war people whining about Christians atheism and pointless things (not saying religion is pointless or anything) I used to try and go on a forum like the WEPR forum here on another site, but it was a constant flame war so i quit and turned to a tavern like this one it felt the same but atleast there wasnt any flame wars.So now when i see a WEPR forum i imagine people arguing that there point is better without evidence. So convince me why i should go to the WEPR forums.
I am not sure what your definition of flame wars are, but as far as I can see, it is just stubborn arguments and debates. A lot of users like these debates for whatever reason they have, and many are (if they don't revolve around religion and/or anything related to the US) actually quite interesting to follow. I am not going to try and convince you to go there, because as it is, there is only a few that goes there regularly, so if you don't like it there, there is no reason for you to force yourself there.
You should only go to a forum if you have a vested interest in its subject matter. In this case if any of the topics interest you and you feel strongly enough to post and defend your position, that should be reason enough. Since this is generally why everybody else is there, you should also be prepared for stubborn arguments in which most people don't listen to each other. This is the norm. What makes it worth going there are the people who actually go there to exchange ideas, of which there are a few.
You should go where you like, there is no reason to do things that you don't like. If you don't find pleasing posting in the WEPR forums you should not go there. The WEPR is not bad, it's just that some persons don't acknowledge their mistakes and have biased opinions. So they don't want to debate, they just want to show that they are right. This phenomenon is not unusual.
To make this easier for people don't say, "If you don't like the topic don't go there." because i'm going to say that i love arguing but when somebody replies with a REALLY bad argument i get annoyed.
So if we take that part out of your argument that means that your argument is 1 in 10 people (im guessing) actually argue correctly and back down when they know they're supposed to? (im guessing that they are more well known members)
