Do you think it was allright Edison to promise Tesla a raise for redesigning his motor and not give it to him?

Well, who is Edison and Tesla?

Assuming you mean the electricity guys, no, that's not right. It's lying. Lying is wrong, is it not?

no I do not think that is fair. but, you know, some people that get all the credit in history didn't do anything.

He's not so well known today, because Edison took the spotlight, but he was one of the most brilliant minds of the Mid 18-1900's.

He was also the badass of the week

All in all, a pretty awesome dude, who I believe should be credited with Edison's lightbulb.

In an episode of House the phrase "Tesla was Robbed!" was written on the white board.... made me lol.

I'm not sure about the history but I think Edison offered Tesla $50,000 to work on some patents with him and after a while (and quite a few inventions alter) Edison said it was all a joke and didn't pay Tesla anything Tesla was Robbed.

No its not fair, but on the upside Tesla won in the end. We all use AC power.

Tesla was one of the best physicist ever. It was not fair, but unfortunately such things are quite common in science. For example the Hopital's rule was developed Bernoulli. Bernoulli was hired by L'Hopital to tutor him in mathematics. Bernoulli and L'Hopital signed a contract which gave L'Hopital the right to use Bernoulliâs discoveries as he pleased. L'Hopital authored the first textbook on calculus, which mainly consisted of the work of Bernoulli, including what is now known as L'Hopital's rule.
It's not fair and Tesla was robbed.

Scientific community gave Tesla a credit by naming a unit for magnetic induction after him. Edison has no unit.

Marconi also used his work to make a name. It's a shame that he didn't get a Nobel prize, he has so many inventions, world today would look a lot different if it wasn't for him.

Bell stole Marconi his rights on the telephone; it's a well known fact, outside America.

This reminds me of Watson and Crick, they took the credit for the Dna model while the third researcher (can't remember her name) didn't get any and later died from radation from the experiment.
