I hope this has not been asked before. I currently cannot use the search, but want to ask before I forget.
Are the player rankings for the month(not all time) updated instantly or is there a delay?
Also, does the ranking for the month just go by how many Armor Points you have earned since the first of the month or is it based of off something else?
We do not know how the Player Rankings work. Their coding is unknown, and it sometimes spews out random lists.
As far as I know, it's based on the AP's you gain from the 1st of the month, nothing else.
there are many theories how the Player rankings works: Unfortunately, not even the mods and Carlie know how it does it's math, as the AP levels of some users do not correspond in any way to the AP they made that month, or their total AP.
I think there's an old thread of Plokkey that attempts to explain this phenomenon... Here it is! Read, and become confused.
I also have a small theory: The AG clock, you see, does not seem to work (This can be proven when the time between posts is messed up). Therefore, if the clock is messed up, the leaderboard (Which is connected to the AG clock, as it needs to know when to update, one month, so on) is also messed up. Or it could be the coding is messed up, and the clock messes up the messed up stuff.
So messing up a mess is essentially what the Player Rankings is.
Most people who are wise ignore the Leader board, unless you are in the top 100 (That does work, sort of), as the Monthly rankings is corrupted and useless unless you get really addicted to it.
Thanks, now I know not to try too hard to get the number 1 spot on the monthly leader board.

Yeah I've noticed that sometimes it feels like it takes 2 minutes before you can post again and sometimes it feels like 10 seconds.
If the mods don't know how the leader boards work; does anyone know who coded the leader boards? Or would that be like finding the Architect in the Matrix?
Something is wrong. I have gained over 3,000 AP this month sense february 1st. I was at 4,500. Now I'm at 7,700. And it said that I had gained 550 AP. Instead of fixing the problem and showing how many I really earned, it went DOWN to 400 AP.

You could try, but don't spam to achieve it.
does anyone know who coded the leader boards?
Most likely it was an admin, or someone at the AG office who doesn't have an account. As the leaderboard is of little value to the higher beings of AG, they don't do anything about it. Or it's coding is so random they'd have to take it down and work very long to fix it (Or the clock is wrong, and they can't do anything about it ).
Something is wrong
Something is always wrong with the leaderboard.

Use the theory of Plokkey for that problem. It might make sense with his.
Statement: The AG-clock is wrong... Fact: The AG-clock IS messed up... Solution: First stand on your head for a minute, then eat 20 bananas at once, drink a gallon of freshly squeezed orange juice and ultimately dance around the livingroom holding a pillow in your left hand and a left shoe in your right hand while you're balancing the TV-remote (long way up) on your nose!
Somehow this question is never going to be answered, unless a mod or an admin feels like wasting some of his/her precious time to explain this problem to us 'dumb' users... =)
Anyway... the player rankings are updated from time to time, but somehow not all gained armor points are used to make up this ranking... I think is is a somewhat 'odd' recipe that's a combination of some AP here and a little activity on the website there, added with a touch of 'luck'...
Who will EVER know what the real combo of this ranking is? Other than plokkey of course... :P
