Well they a both pretty cool, but a violin just seems way too classic, so I have to go with guitar because its a lot more rockish and to me it's just cooler.

violin cuz it sounds softer and more elegant and romantic.

I really have to say guitar, though some of my favourite songs of all time, including "Baba O'Riley" by The Who and "Rag Mama Rag" by The Band, feature violin parts that I find very nice.
