What do you think about it? Lets debate whether cams should be in public facilities or not? Whats your view?

Now, they must have hacked the computers to gain access, no?

All school/private organization issued computers can be remotely accessed from a main server, however the ability to turn on web-cams should be treated just as the ability to search lockers, I'm in high school and somethings are kept in lockers that should have "Your Eyes Only" stamped on them. Maybe there should be a notification such as, "Beep!" Your webcam will be activating in 3,2,1 gives them enough time to cover up or whatever so that nothing private is seen however unsavory activities can't be hidden.

Hacking = illegal.

You don't have to hack to activate the cams or get into the computer from another. There are multiple programs that allow you to do so with the computers IP or its name.

That would have defeated the purpose of spying on them. Any smart student would know that they are being checked on.
