As far as I know Infinity Ward have abandoned the Call of Duty franchise entirely and are moving into the console games development business to create a completely new game.
To answer your question, yes. Call of Duty 4 was good: it had nice multiplayer (with dedicated servers *[/i]cough cough cough*), a short but extremely entertaining campaign that had some originality to it and was, overall, a nice game to play. Call of Duty 6: the campaign was just about how some new Russian terrorist joined the gang and you had to stop him - why not make a carbon copy of CoD 4's campaign (oh wait . . .) and change the guy's name? Not to mention the atrocious multiplayer features.

If you hate Call of Duty so much, then stop playing it, and stay out of Call of Duty threads. Also, your main complaint was the PC servers. Well guess what? Call of Duty was ment to be a console game. They just made a PC version of it becasue PC gamers wanted one so badly. So of course it isn't going to be as good as the console versions becasue the game was made to be a CONSOLE GAME. Just get over the fact that its not good for PC and move on.

Battlefield 2 in my own opinion is better than the CoD's, it has online profiles, dedicated servers (this is the old BF 2, not Bad Company), and it was very good gameplay. Bad Company 2 makes whole new elements that overrule both formats of shooters.

And I think they overdone it in the first place, I like how you was one person, then switched to another etc. But I just hate the gun nicknames and especially the accuracy / damage statistics on the guns in Multiplayer, they're wrong... wrong...
Same with MW2, but I get an itch that BF BC II is much better with the measurements.

PC gaming is overated... Like getting a gaming console if your going to play games, cuz gaming companies already realize that the main area for money is game consoles. PC's are just kinda there.. They wont get dedicated servers, and they wont get all the good features most ps3 and xbox games get. sry bud, move on and stop complaining about your PC problems. That's true, but companies should focus on making customers happy regardless of what platform they're on than just constantly going where the money is. Whilst it is important to get lots of money with a games company, does it really cost so much out of the hundreds of millions that some of these companies earn to get their workers to copy dedicated servers from the game's predecessors give it a slightly more glamorous interface and then keep the trust and money of a whole new platform?
It's a copy and paste job + a bit of work in Photoshop, and then you'll have customers on 3 platforms rather than 2. It shouldn't take more than a week to implement a copy of the old dedicated servers. Why does that cost so much? Especially when you earn over 1 billion dollars from 2 platforms.

PC's are better, I already explained why somewhere Consoles suck, it's just cos ppl can play it on a 50 inch TV more often, u can do that on a PC, easily.
