I'm not sure if there is already a post about this, but I haven't been on in months so if there is just lock this.
Anyways, has anyone listened to this guys? I think they are fantastic. John Paul Jones (The great Led Zepplin) started this band along with Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvanna), and Joshua whats his face (Queens of the Stone Age. They released and album a while ago and his has some fantastic songs on it.
It more underground than most people would think. But thats cuz Josh Hommes likes his music that way (QOTSA for example). Anyways i personally would classify it as alternative.. But im sure someone out there would have a better category for it... Great music though. Just search them up on youtube, or itunes.
I think if I had to categorize Them Crooked Vultures, I would label them as Alternative Rock, with definite Blues and Hard Rock styles mixed in accordingly.
And yes, I've listened to the album, and it is fantastic! I would expect no less from these three great musicians, though.
Yes, this has been brought up before, because someone on here bought their album.
I've only heard two songs from them, and they're ok. Good rock melodies, but I'd prefer Grohl's voice over Homme's.
This is yet another "supergroup", with three great musicians. My favorite supergroup is Cream, with the amazing talents of Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, and Ginger baker. Blind Faith is another supergroup, which had Clapton, Ginger Baker, and Stevie Winwood.
Another great supergroup was The Traveling Wilburys, who had the tremendous talents of George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty. I suggest to anyone who hasn't heard of these groups I've mentioned to look them up, they're a pleasure to the ears.
