Once humanity is on the brink of annihilation, everyone and everything will change.
They won't change per-say. It will mostly be the need to live, the need to survive, and the utter panic inside of them, when they know there is very little they can do to help them survive. They will resort to old practices long forgotten by them, such as praying, and other similar activities.
Something that can change a man is the first time you do the three letter word. If you know what I mean. But yeah. What do you mean by nature of man. How they think? How they act? Etc, etc.
Human nature is plenty full of flaws/weakness... Alcohol and drugs can change the nature of someone temporarly or for a longer period. Being dumped by the one you love is a great trauma too; the first time it happens I guess it's more diificult and then it's less >> the man has changed between those two steps... All the experiences that you have along your life changes you I think, that's how the nature of a man changes, that's how we grow and become a real man.
War, death, misery, watching thousands lose their lives for no reason.
Human atrocities are committed every day, and thousands witness them, and commit them with no choice. That changes men more than drugs, abandonment, even solitary confinement ever could.
