I don't know if this subject has been brought up but it seems as though the moderators have a hard time searching high and low for merit worthy reviews of games and the such. I suggest picking many responsible people to search through games comment archives to help ease the load off the moderators.
Why bring this up now?
The merit I recieved came from a review I wrote June 14, 2009. which shows that with such few mods we have it makes it difficult to get merits to the people who earn it, I do have faith in the mods almighty ability to get the job done, and I am not sure if there is already a team who does this, but I believe it would be a good idea for the site and to allow the mods to focus on other areas.
Responsibilities would include: Searching for Merit worthy reviews while getting rid of bad or rule-breaking comments they may come across.
I think there was something called Merit_Recognition about a year ago that's not here anymore...Or is that my imagination? People would post on Merit_Recognition like they did with SHOPS. Or is that my imagination again?
One of the reason why mods might not look through comments because it's BORING. I wouldn't want to sift through tens, hundreds of pages of game comments. That's boring, I don't think anybody wants that job (except Gantic). So if this were to happen people might only look for a day and give up.
If they think someone can be trusted, they will give them full power. Its an all or nothing deal. People could be irrespossible and give out merits to every one.
Second. You don't write a commnet in hopes of receiving a merit. You write a comment that is helpfull to the game creator.
