3 units of berserker fully upgraded can take down your average roman army in mere seconds. Don't chase carts with infantry, you'll never cacth them. Use "onagri" (catapults) on "falangi" ((close unit of lancers) or charge the back of their formation with cavalry. Assasinate your ally! If a faction has no more heirs, it will be destroyed, and you can conquer easly their territory. That game has one of the worst ending in history of videogames.
I'm into the user made modpacks created for the game. I find the original unmodded game to be bad.

not if they have archers, heck even the 2 javelins the legionarys use before charging will probably kill like half of the unarmoured, unshielded bezerkers
tbh on that game the best faction is easil any roman one, although the macedonian type factions are pretty good aswell. unless there fighting a phalanx, roman legionarys prettymuch own every other unit in the game in 1v1 combat
