It would be great that we can put our own armatars, i mean to pass it from our computer to the game please.(i have my sonny and i want to put it as my armatar)
Armatars are regulated so the little children who look into our forums won't just happen to see a violent, or worse pornographic, armatar. I think there is already a thread about this, I just can't find it.
That would be nice, but wouldn't make AG as original as it is now. To many sites like Kongregate and YouLose.Net let you pick your own avator. Also its been brought up that some eould pick ones that arn't suitable the site or its members.
well i think it would be cool if the armatar selection had pictures of some of the games like freerider. being able to choose your own would sort of defeat the purpuse of "AP"
There will soon be a spring-armatar contest where you can make and upload spring-themed armatars, and you can also have other people's armatars that are accepted.
I would try if you really want armatars (As most of them will be accepted) that you've made yourself.
No armatars except Zophia's dinosaur armatars have ever been permanent (Are they still there?). The reason is because yes, to prevent inappropriate avatars. But also because it's a sort of tradition thing: The armatars we get are amazing! Look at the detail and how much effort an artist put into it. It's why their called armatar
Those threads are so old.
So dead even necroposters don't dig them up.

And I've seen that some Kong avatars have spread along many users that are just plain wrong. And flashy avatars hurt when you look at them (Especially when they plaster the screen).
However, I do agree with game armatars, assuming we do not upload them ourselves, but the artist who makes these armatars uploads it for us. Of course it will be some popular games.
True, especially AG games like Bubble Tanks and Sonny. I would love them too, but they have to be legal... And not too many.

So for those people wanting to get their own creation of an armatar uploaded to the site... there's your chance! Make a great armatar and who knows, you might get lucky! =D I'm thinking of entering the contest too with my personal ideas for armatars, so I want to take a shot at it too I guess... but don't tell anyone else about this! XD

You already have the risk of getting a headache when sitting behind your computer for too long (like me sometimes), so adding a factor increasing that chance is not desired... at all!
Well i think u can submit a armatar. I think if u posted on the art section or ask a admin/mod they might take it to consideration.
Well, to answer your question loloynage2, I've discussed this with Carlie and her response was: If you want to do this, we're not stopping you. But it's not likely they will be accepted by AG. This said in more or less other words, but the meaning of it is clear (I hope) that you can always try, but the chance of them getting accepted is small, very small... :S
Only thing remaining now is the 'game-atars'... and that's a good suggestion I think! Always nice to have an armatar that displays a game screen shot or something of that sort to show your devotion to a game you really really like or simply because you like the artwork used in the game! This is something really worth considering to make by AG! =D
but how many would abuse that privledge and pick an image that stronly goes againest the site rules?
I am for the allowance of your own armatars and do not see this as a valid argument. I have been on many forums and it's only once or twice that I've seen anything unsuitable for minors - about the worst I've seen is some profanity in a humourous context. I do not believe that massive numbers of people would choose overwhelmingly profane or pornographic avatars, and the AG community only has a few members, nearly all of whom are sophisticated enough to abide to simple rules, and anyone who did choose an inappropriate avatar would probably not be active enough for it to be noticed.
But since Armor Games are not going to be considering implementing the privileges to get whatever avatar you want from the net any time soon, it's probably your best bet to get one of your armatars published. In the Art Music and Writing forum there's a reoccurring competition that turns up every holiday/season and allows users to create an armatar on the topic. Whilst it won't be your sonny one, you have a chance to create your own personalised armatar.
Maybe we should ask for a competition on Armor Games where 'random' entries of armatars can be chosen by the admins as winners and be uploaded for users to choose from? Mind you... they then, of course, wouldn't be personal anymore, but every user can use them when they want to... :S
But at least this way, both parties win in the situation! =D
I believe the usual reason why no usermade armatars are added permanently is because they don't fit the official ones. It was loosened up a bit after the two newest batches, but of course it would also mean that the artist gives all rights of use to AG.
