i mean i know it will help us understand what will happen to us but i didnt even see it and i still have nightmares i mean its like omg y do i need to know my p*nis is going to grow in a b*ner and y i need to know that my b*lls gonna get hairy?
Now days they are not as need as they used to be. Most teenagers learn through older siblings or friends. The videos are useful to those few that are 'hermits' and are not all that aware of what will (or should) happen throughout puberty. It would help them understand what they have to expect and should save them freaking out the first time their 'lil soldier stands to attention'. All in all I think it is more neccissary for girls than boys.

Lads only really care if it grows big or not haha.
It would help them understand what they have to expect and should save them freaking out the first time their 'lil soldier stands to attention'. lol good to know that some people haven't lost their humor.
ummm this is a weird subject. But yes. I think they should. As awkward as it seems, people need to know what happens to them when they grow up. If we didn't, then we'd have a bunch of people running around thinking kissing was going to make a baby lol
Yeah...it's kind of awkward, but I s'ose it's better than learning it from someone whose information isn't accurate. Honestly, I think that the parent(I hope to GOD only the one parent is the one talking about it) should be the one to teach their kid(s) about this sort of thing, but seeing how uncomfortable the subject is, the best compromise is to have the school do it, that way everyone knows. And I think it would be less awkward knowing that there are other kids going through the same thing. Alternatively, you could just watch South Park. xP. Side note; you know girls have to watch the "maturation" films too? Not the same video, obviously, but they have a puberty movie too, that they have to watch in school.
As much as kids know nowadays, these videos still have the power to teach them things they didn't know. And some kids need these videos anyway, because their family doesn't teach them about it.
Yes, this is an awkward subject indeed. Unfortunately, most minors learn about that kind of thing in their early teen years ( I am a victim ). Either they learn from their friends or the dangerous thing that we call the Internet. In my case it was a combination of those and science major. :P
Either way, it's not as necessary as I believe it was 10-20 years ago. It should be done just in case.
I've never had to watch a puberty video my teacher just tells us about it for three classes instead of gym and I'm in grade 9 I've already been through the three classes and it really is awkward in class.
Why is this boys only? Are you claiming that women are inferior and don't go through puberty? Are you being sexist? Because I don't take kindly to sexists.
They made us watch the movie at the end of 5th grade. Boy was that akward. An d no, I don't think they need to tell us. We can figure that out for ourselves. Do you really think that animals watch sex ed. WHy do we.
