Hi, this is Moat(once again). This thread differs from my usual type in that it is not an RPG. Rather, it is a test of sorts. A bit like the Impression Game, for those who remember that. The system will be the same as the IG, but there will be a winner crowned after every stage in the competition and there will be a small award, which will be explained later. First things first. This game is mainly just trivia and whatnot, based on a theme that is first chosen by me, and later will be chosen by the contest's victors(more on that later). Scoring is simple. The first person to correctly answer my question will receive one point. People who answer correctly after the first, will receive nothing. People who answer incorrectly will lose one point(and yes, it is possible to have negative points), so answer carefully! Questions will always be chosen by me except in my absence, wherein I will chose a replacement until my return. The contest is broken up into theme segments. Each theme segment will have 5-10 questions(it varies). Once those ten questions have been answered(or the one-day deadline for getting a correct answer has passed, more on that later) the person with the most points in that will get to choose the next theme, and the points will be wiped and the next stage will begin. I do keep track of Wins, but this is purely for ego and bragging reasons for those who have earned it. You cannot pick a theme that has already been used. You can have a streak up to three stages long. If this is accomplished, you will be unable to answer in the next stage(this is to give others a chance to catch up with you). There is a one day deadline to receive the correct answer to a question. If that passes and the correct answer has not been received, then the real answer will be given by me at that time and the new question will be asked. If there are any further questions about the competition, they can be asked at any time within the thread. Now... The new theme is Band/Musician Names That Mean Something Else. I know, it's a long title, but it makes up for it. See, I would say a band/musician name like "Duran Duran". The correct answer would be something like "Duran is a male name. The etymology is French; meaning, 'enduring'." Understood? Great. Let's start you off with something easy. The question is *cue drumroll*.... Black Sabbath.
meant, that it is bad to sa the lord's name in vein, insted you say Judas Preist
Seriously? people actually do that? I have literally never heard anyone say "judas priest" (when not referring to the band).
Anyway.
Judas = Betraying Jesus = anti-christianity
Priest = promoting christianty (or religion in general, whatever)
So it is a *little* oxymoronic.
*narrows eyes* You didn't happen to Google that, now did you?
No.... I used a textbook. Somehow I think that that is worse. I just felt kind of lame with my whole Sobe thing so I wanted to get an accurate definition.
I meant, that it is bad to sa the lord's name in vein, insted you say Judas Preist. Plus Judas was the guy that betrayed Jesus
Not in "vein". Veins are what your blood flows in. You mean in "vain". And wth? You weren't saying Jesus Christ in vain, you were just saying it. To say it in vain would be to say it when you were frustrated or angry, as an expletive. But you were just saying it.
In my house me mon makes us a pay a swear jar and if you say Jesus Christ there goes a dollar,
That sucks for you.

Neither have I.

*rolls eyes* The day is up and I have to tell you guys. Judas: A traitor, often one who pretends to be a friend initially. Not necessarily having anything to do with religion at all. Priest: I think you guys know what a priest is. So...yeah. A treacherous priest.

There's a name for that, you know. It's called cheating. Last question(and it's a pretty sucky one). Usher.
