We all know that most "rebels" are rebellious because they want to be different from the way mainstream society wants them to be. At one point, this is what society wanted people to look and dress like:

Notice the neat hair and the formal jacket and tie. Ignore the smokable.

Now, here's what a "rebel" from this current era would look like:

Look at this idiot! He's wearing a beanie even though it's making his head sweat! His shirt has a skull on it, because he knows it will make him look tougher. To top it off, he isn't even wearing a helmet while riding his skateboard, which means if I hit him with my car, I'd spend the rest of the day cleaning his brain off my windshield.

Now, if you saw these two guys walking down the street, who would you classify as the "rebel"? The fool in the hat seems a lot more mainstream than the man in the tie. If the skateboarder wishes to be a rebellious person, he must not look like every other idiot "rebel", and change his style a bit so he doesn't blend in with all the other idiot "rebels".

I'm a rebel (so my teachers say), because I argue with most rules, and laws because I see error to them, I also resent how most of them can be so ignorant and arrogant to people. Just thought I'd add that in. And the rebel that's a skateboarder isn't a rebel more and more kids are becoming that way so shouldn't that be considered a mainstream and genuises and nerds rebels? Since most people aren't like that and they are without trying to change?

They're teachers. They get paid to act like that.

Nothing's perfect; Justice is an opinion.

How about they're both mainstream? Plenty of people are skateboarders and plenty wear suits to work.

Let's assume the tie guy is skateboarding and the skateboarder is working, and they're wearing the same outfits. Now neither of them are mainstream, but a working person in skateboarder's clothes is more mainstream than a skateboarder in workman's clothes.

Then they're both rebelling. For the suit guy i'd imagine he has a white-collar job, so skateboarder guy would get in trouble.

Whatever doesn't fit the norm is rebelling?

I'd be more worried about the fact that his feet are about as big as his torso.


I almost mentioned that, but it didn't seem to relate to my point. And those big feet could save him from a deadly accident. They could even serve as a helmet if he were flexible enough.

Thinking is giving me a headache.

The "rebel" isn't recongnizable in todays society. They might not stand out, but they take actions. Their rebel "attire" is something of the past.

To be technical, you can't call going against the norm, rebellion. Rebellion is resistance against authority. Those kids with skateboards can't be called rebels.

I don't wear a helmet and im not a rebel.....

Anyways, u can't know who is a rebel just by looking at him. U can get a general idea, but its never for sure. Maybe the kid just doesnt like tie and formal jacket. Or maybe he is just in the style of how kids dress...

A lot of people don't like to dress like the first picture guy, so they wear long and confertable.

Of course not, but in comparison, if you saw those two guys walking down the street, which one would you consider to be the "rebel"; assuming that one of them is and one of them is not.
