I have encountered ads that either -flash the majority of their content at two colors at 60 or so fps. (could have been evony, not sure) -pop up and cover the entire site in a flash script or something WITHOUT BEING CLICKED, making the Armor Games site unnavigateable. (axe)
Though I could cover most of the flashing ad by scrolling it off the page, I could do nothing to navigate away from the axe popup, except closing the tab. I understand that there is a need for ads, but this? what's next? ads with music?
I'm guessing that at some point people will leave this site because it's just impossible or really uncomfortable to play here. that means less circulation. that means less revenue from the ads. As I see it, the very thing that keeps AG afloat is starting to kill it.
well, i could restate my point over and over again, but i think you can see what i'm getting at.
We've had that discussion before somewhere in this forum... I will try to see where that was and get the link up here, ok?
But the topic was about the same and discussed the irritating ads that ruin your joy of the gameplay alltogether...
To try and help you with the problem... it's not one of those ads that can be closed with a 'click close button' in one of the corners of the ad, is it? Sometimes you have to look really hard for it, since they make it the same colour as the background of the ad, so this way you almost can't see it... clever buggers!
This is off the topic but you are the only person that I know that has chrome.
I think kingryan uses it too, or some other high ranking user in the top 100.
I'm using chrome, and there is something similar for that program too. i was gonna try and avoid that, but...
Many people on AG don't use Chrome, and I personally hate it after reading how Google spies on the users. IP address, search words, typed information... Not funny.

Well... to debunk your statement, I've actually seen that a lot of users of AG DO use chrome! I think it was in a thread about having problems with the advertisements, maybe it was in the 'Don't like ads? Don't click here' thread... Anyway, I use explorer and (so far) it works just fine! =D
I even have only a few problems with ads now and then, but nothing serious, so that speaks for IE, but then again it's all depending on the person using it and how much he/she is irritated about those ads... o_O
You must be lucky. Most of us using IE get a horrible browsing experience.
Well, could be that I have the same thing happening to me, but I don't care about it happening that much... o_0
"Ignorance is bliss" you know... =D
I guess this thread can be locked, since the topic is one of many about ads interfering browsers and everything is explained and discussed in the thread linked by ulimitedpower, so... LOCK IT! I say! =D
